Born in Paris, in 1949, Philippe Starck attended the École Camondo, a school of product design, before going on to found his first design company in 1968.
He is best known for his 'Louis Ghost Chair' a transparent polycarbonate chair, which in typical Starck style, is a witty interpretation of the famous baroque Louis XVI armchair.
He has gone on to collaborate with many household names, from Missoni to Steve Jobs, and currently designs for Kartell Furniture.
