WHAT IS THE SCOSSA INTERIOR DESIGN SERVICE?
Scossa (pronounced "sco-sa") is an Italian word associated with energy, emotion and impact — qualities that we believe every beautifully designed home should inspire.
Our name has its roots in Italy, reflecting the modern Italian and European design heritage that has influenced our collection from the very beginning. More importantly, it represents the passion, creativity and enthusiasm we bring to helping our customers create homes they love living in.
Whether you're furnishing a single room or an entire home, our aim is simple: to take away the stress and uncertainty, replacing it with confidence, inspiration and a space that feels uniquely yours.
We guide you through every decision involved in selecting furniture and lighting, from understanding the scale of a piece within your room to choosing between a ceramic dining table and a glass dining table, or deciding whether a round dining table or an extendable dining table better suits the way you live and entertain.
Critically, we are not here to steer you towards whatever happens to be trending this month. Our goal is to help you achieve a modern, contemporary look that genuinely reflects your lifestyle, your tastes, and the character of your home, with furniture crafted to last decades, not seasons, backed by manufacturers' warranties and our own aftersales support.
Explore our curated collections of luxury furniture, designer lighting, and bespoke interiors to see how our design service brings everything together.

INTERIOR DESIGN SERVICES FOR FURNITURE, LIGHTING & LAYOUT
Our interior design service covers the full breadth of the Scossa collection, including:
Dining Rooms
Choosing the right dining table is one of the most important furniture decisions you will make. We help you navigate options across modern dining tables, including extendable dining tables, round dining tables, ceramic dining tables, glass dining tables, and solid wood dining tables, matching the right piece to your room's proportions, your household's needs, and the aesthetic you are building.
Kitchen & Dining Areas
From kitchen stools and breakfast bar stools to compact small dining tables for kitchen-diners, we help you make the most of every centimetre of your space without compromising on style.
Living Rooms
We can advise on contemporary furniture, including coffee tables, TV and media units, shelving and storage solutions, and occasional chairs, helping you build a living space that feels considered and cohesive.
Lighting Design
Lighting is one of the most transformative (and most overlooked!) elements of interior design. We advise on layering light effectively using pendant lighting, floor lamps, and contemporary lighting from world-class designers like Flos, creating atmosphere as well as function in every room.
Bedroom Furniture
A well-designed bedroom begins with the right furniture foundation, from coordinated bedroom furniture sets to individually selected bedside tables and bespoke storage options. Balancing practical storage needs with a calm, considered aesthetic is one of the most rewarding challenges in interior design, and it is one we approach with the same care we bring to every other room. Almost every piece of bedroom furniture in our collection — from wardrobes to chests to dressing tables — can be specified in a range of finishes, sizes, and materials to suit your space precisely.
SHOWROOM APPOINTMENTS & VIRTUAL CONSULTATIONS
Our Preston furniture showroom is the ideal setting to explore our full collection in person, to touch fabrics, compare finishes side by side, and truly understand the scale of a piece before committing. We strongly recommend a showroom visit as part of the design process for expert advice from Helen, Lee, and our expert interior design team.
However, we understand that not everyone is able to visit us in Preston. That is why we also offer:
- Home consultations for clients who would like us to visit their property and see the space first-hand
- Virtual appointments for clients further afield or those with busy schedules, conducted via video call with the same level of care and attention to detail as an in-person meeting
Wherever your home is located, we are committed to providing the same outstanding, personalised service that our clients in the North West have come to expect from Scossa.
WHY CHOOSE SCOSSA FOR INTERIOR DESIGN SERVICES?
Genuine design expertise. Our team brings real knowledge of contemporary and modern Italian furniture, materials, ergonomics, and spatial planning, not just a catalogue.
An honest, pressure-free approach. We take the time to understand what you actually need, and we will always tell you if we think a piece is wrong for your space, even if it is one we sell.
Access to Europe's finest manufacturers. As one of Preston's leading furniture shops, Scossa offers an unrivalled edit of Italian furniture and designer furniture from across Europe, including brands such as Calligaris, Alf DaFre, and Tom Dixon, with pieces that are simply not available on the high street.
Bespoke customisation. Almost every piece in our collection can be specified in a range of sizes, finishes, colours, and materials, meaning your home will never look like a showroom catalogue.
A long-term relationship. Many of our clients return to us each time they tackle a new room or move to a new home. We build relationships, not just transactions.
Is the Scossa design service free?
Our initial consultation is complimentary. For full room or whole-home design projects, a design fee may apply. Please contact us to discuss your project and we will outline the process and any costs before any commitment is made.
Do I need to know what I want before I get in touch?
Absolutely not. Many of our clients come to us with nothing more than a few inspiration images and a vague sense of what they are trying to achieve. That is a perfectly good starting point.
What if I only need help with one room?
We are happy to assist whether you are furnishing a single room or an entire property. There is no minimum scope.
How long does the Scossa design process take?
This varies depending on the complexity of the project and lead times for bespoke orders. We will give you a realistic timeline at your initial consultation.
Can you work with furniture I already own?
Yes. We understand that most homes are a work in progress. We can work around existing pieces and help you build a scheme that grows over time.
